How to Buy & Sell Streetwear in Canada: By Knowing the Lingo

In this article you will get a complete guide on how to buy and sell streetwear in Canada by knowing various streetwear terminology. There's always a want and sometimes a need on when to purge out your closet or even update it for the matter. But the questions starts with how should I buy or how should I sell? Well there are a few simple terminology to know before you start to buy or sell. Let's dive in...

KNOW THE LINGO

Knowing various streetwear terminology is essential when buying and selling clothing and sneakers online. It allows for both the buyers and sellers to be immersed in the culture and know what they are talking about.

BIN (Buy it Now): This is a common acronym used when buying and selling streetwear. It represents the price of which the seller will sell for immediately.

DS (Deadstock): DS is also a common acronym when posting items for sale. This term means the sneaker or clothing article has never been worn .

F&F (Friends and Family): Often a specific piece of clothing or sneaker that was made in small quantities for "Friends & Family". Theses are often really hard to find and can be expensive due to them being exclusive.

FT (For Trade): This is pretty sell explanatory once you figure out what the acronym means.  FT means "For Trade" in turn representing they are looking to exchange their item for another.

H/O (Highest Offer): Term used for when the item has had offers from potential buyers & the seller is waiting for either a new "H/O" or to sell their item for "BIN".

HMU (Hit Me Up): Slang for direct message me, contact me. It is basically a term used that the seller uses on their sale post to entice the buyer to contact them to make the deal or for more information.

LC (Legit Check): Normally used on Facebook and other post like marketplace asking for a "Legit Check" in order to ask if an item is authentic or fake.

OBO (Or Best Offer): Term used to disclose that the buyer will take the best offer that is given within a specific time period.

PADS (Pass as Deadstock): Means the item has been worn. However, most of the time PADS means that they are in very good shape and can pass as brand new since there are most likely no flaws.

PM: Means to send a private message or direct message to either buyer or seller.

S/O (Starting Offer):  This is the starting price/offer or the lowest offer the seller is willing to sell for. Note if an offer is under the S/O the seller will most likely ignore the message.

TTS (True to Size): This is an acronym used  which refers to sizing of shows or clothing.  Sellers often disclose how things fit as construction of sneakers or clothing varies from different designers & companies. TTS in general means it fits as it is supposed to.

VNDS (Very Near Deadstock): Essentially, has the same meaning as PADS. It is normally in very good condition with very little flaws as they were taken care of and look deadstock.
